森林バイオマス科学研究室では森林資源の高度利用を目的として、森林微生物の機能に着目した研究を展開しています。森林の分解者として働く微生物、特にきのこの仲間は食用としての利用以外にも私達の生活を豊かにしてくれる可能性を秘めています。そのような森林微生物の特殊な機能を分子レベルで解明し、その機能を生かすことで私達を取り巻く環境汚染やエネルギー問題に取り組んでいます。

Welcome to the Laboratory of Forest Biomass Science !
 The Laboratory of Forest Biomass Science (LFBS) of University of Miyazaki was formed focusing on scientific analysis and strategic use of forest biomass such as wood and mushroom. Specific interest lies on elucidation and application of special capability of forest microorganism; degradation of recalcitrant organic compounds, fungal fermentation of cellulose and hemicellulose, interaction between forest microorganisms, and fruit body-formation of edible mushroom. LFBS hope to contribute to the establishment of bio-base systems for sustainable use of forest biomaterials.
