We aim to solve problems in various fields based on technologies related to image processing, recognition, and understanding. To give a typical example, in the field of agricultural-industrial collaboration, "development of a cattle monitoring system using ICT", in the field of medical-engineering collaboration, "detection of neonatal jaundice", "measurement of severity of Parkinson's disease", etc.
And also developing human posture and behavior analysis, fall detection, medication management, etc. for "construction of a watching system that supports the independent living of the elderly".
Thi Thi Zin (M’05) received the B.Sc. degree (Hons.) in mathematics from Yangon University, Myanmar, in 1995, the M.I.Sc. degree in computational mathematics from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon, Myanmar, in 1999, and the master’s and Ph.D. degrees in information engineering from Osaka City University, Osaka, Japan, in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
From 2007 to 2009, she was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. She is currently a Professor with the Graduate School of Engineering, University of Miyazaki, Miyazaki, Japan. Her research interests include understanding human behavior, ITS, and image recognition.
Pyke Tin received the B.Sc. degree (Hons.) in mathematics from the University of Mandalay, Myanmar, in 1965, the M.Sc. degree in computational mathematics from the University of Rangoon, Myanmar, in 1970, and the Ph.D. degree in stochastic processes and their applications from Monash University, Australia, in 1976. He was a Rector with the University of Computer Studies, Yangon, and a Professor of computational mathematics.
He is currently a Visiting Professor with the International Relations Center, University of Miyazaki, Miyazaki, Japan. His research interests include image search engines, queuing systems, computer vision, stochastic processes, and their applications to image processing.
